The second in my 'Bob' series. 'Bob' is an abbreviation, in my eyes, of 'Discombobulated'. When I first started the series I thought that the word meant to break apart or destroy but I later discovered that it's meaning is "To throw into a state of chaos" which is almost more appropriate for the sculptures. BobMkII is powered by two small halogen bulbs, cradled inside a fleshy membrane of adhesive, paint and tree-bark by steel wire. The rest of his 'Skeleton' was found in a skip aside from the palm of his right had (life-cast out of lead from my own hand) and the fingers of his left hand (life-cast out of plaster from my own hand). A large part of the inspiration for BobMkII was the 'Stalkers' from Phillip Reeve's novels. |       |
